I stumbled into wildlife photography quite unexpectedly having had only a vague interest in photography. Of course, I owned the requisite DSLR that everyone seems to own these days and I’d take random photos but I took my first wildlife shots when we went on honeymoon to Malaysia. I discovered the joy of capturing an animal in the midst of motion with that sense of power and speed radiating through the picture to the viewer or of waiting patiently for the perfectly outlined picture of a rare bird and after that, there was just no turning back. I have enthusiastically embraced birdwatching and bird photography as a full-time hobby and am looking forward to improving my skills over time. Through social media and a local newspaper, I eventually discovered more wildlife photographers in Pakistan and since then it has been a long but satisfying journey of improving my photography and building up my photography portfolio. Discovering more and more bird species in Pakistan that I didn’t even know existed and visiting different localities has made me appreciate my country even more than before as well as the natural variety it offers.
